This 10' diameter version of the VideoGlobe
includes, an aluminum structure,
aluminum stand, five Eiki PowerHouse data projectors, rotating
motor, and acrylic outer shell
that is rendered
to simulate the planet Earth. The
video projectors
are mounted inside the globe
and are temperature
monitored with a remote sensor.
This will
activate a series of cooling
fans that will
maintain the proper operating
temperature.
Each projector can receive a
separate video
or computer signal, and project
it through
a cutout on each major continent.
All signal
cables are routed through the
bottom of the
globe and will allow for slow
rotation in
one direction and then reverse.
